Arms Warrior Leveling Guide from 1 to 80 — The War Within (11.0.5)

Arms Warrior only really have one playstyle, though take time to grow into it. Starting out as a mediocre leveling spec with only Sweeping Strikes, Arms Warriors do not start gaining more worthwhile multitarget tools until around level 30. Past that point however, the gameplay picks up quickly, regularly able to pull several mobs together and cleave them down without fear thanks to Die by the Sword to mitigate damage and Victory Rush to heal it back up. By rotating several offensive cooldowns, Arms Warriors will eventually chain from pull to pull with little to no downtime.

Always initiate combat with Charge whenever able, using Heroic Throw or Heroic Leap to pull more as desired. When facing several targets, use Sweeping Strikes, Cleave, Overpower, and Thunder Clap if they are expected to live long enough for the bleed to tick out. In between those abilities, or when there are only one or two targets left, use Mortal Strike and Execute to kill off priority targets. Cooldowns such as Warbreaker and Bladestorm can be used liberally, but are not often needed, so try to save them for bigger packs or harder targets.

You unlock the Talent Trees at Level 10. Further below is the recommended Leveling Talent path.

When leveling up, you should always choose the piece of loot with the highest item level. The only exception to this rule is if you have a Ring or Necklace with a slightly lower item level, but 2 secondary stats on it instead of 1.

To keep things simple while leveling and learning the spec, use the slider to select your level, and watch as the leveling rotation grows with each level!

When using our slider, note that some talents may appear sooner than you expect them to in the rotation. This is because we have two recommended builds above, each taking talents at slightly different times, and sometimes entirely different talents.

1. Cast Charge to initiate combat whenever possible.
2. Cast Sweeping Strikes to hit a second target with single-target attacks.
3. Cast Thunder Clap to apply Rend to more than three targets.
4. Cast Victory Rush for free damage and healing after killing an enemy.
5. Cast Shield Slam to deal damage, if still using a shield.
6. Cast Avatar when facing large groups or strong enemies.
7. Cast Colossus Smash to deal increased damage against the primary target.
8. Cast Warbreaker to increase damage against all enemies.
9. Cast Demolish on cooldown for a high burst multitarget damage.
10. Cast Thunderous Roar against groups of enemies or individual strong targets.
11. Cast Bladestorm against groups of enemies or individual strong targets.
12. Cast Mortal Strike as the primary single target ability and to apply Deep Wounds.
13. Cast Execute whenever possible.
14. Cast Overpower as a free filler.
15. Cast Overpower as a free filler and to increase the damage of Mortal Strike or Cleave.
16. Cast Slam to deal damage to a single target.
17. Cast Slam to deal damage to a single target or Whirlwind against multiple.
18. Cast Slam to deal damage to a single target or Cleave against multiple.

The following PvP talents are recommended for leveling and doing solo / small group PvE content. You may find that different PvP talents work better for you depending on your playstyle. Experimentation is encouraged!

1. Shadow of the Colossus increases rage generation.
2. Sharpen Blade increases damage of Mortal Strike.
3. Storm of Destruction allows Bladestorm to be used much more frequently.
