All New World Artifacts
Sword Artifacts
The Butcher
The Butcher artifact is a very unique sword that provides a handful of useful perks, including an exclusive perk known as Hemorrhage, which makes Bleeds last 33% longer (for both weapons). It's important to note that this artifact also has two weapon perks on it, including Jagged Whirls and Empowering Whirling Blade. With this in mind, you will want to ensure that your build utilizies the Whirling Blade ability so you can get the most out of this artifact.
The Butcher is heaviliy reliant on inflicting bleeds, making users very dangerous with this when they pair it with other bleed-inflicting weapons, such as the spear, rapier, or bow.
In order to unlock The Butcher, you will need to defeat Zhou Taiying within the mutated version of the Dynasty Shipyard expedition. If you're struggling taking this boss down, be sure to check out our Dynasty Shipyard guide.
Hatchet Artifacts
Freya's Francisca
The Freya's Francisca artifact allows players to create an in-depth throwing hatchet build due to the unique perks it provides. This artifact provides the perk called Thrown Mastery, which allows all thrown axe projectiles to reduce all hatchet skill cooldowns by 25%.
This artifact is heaviliy reliant on the throwing hatchet skills and abilities, so it's best to utilize that side of the hatchet's mastery tree. This artifact is not widely used, but could be fun if used correctly.
In order to unlock Freya's Francisca, you will need to defeat The Blighted Greenskeeper within the mutated version of the Genesis expedition. If you're struggling taking this boss down, be sure to check out our Garden of Genesis expedition guide.
Sin
The Sin artifact tends to be the most-used hatchet artifact, as it can easily be used within a range of different builds. This artifact has the unique perk known as "Corruption", which allows the player's debuffs to last 25% longer (which works on both weapons). This is an extremely helpful perk, as it can pair well with any debuff-oriented weapons (like Void Gauntlet or Spear), and allows you to focus on maximizing the debuffs on your opponents.
This artifact also has the unique perk known as "Defile", which allows players to deal an additional 2% more damage per debuff on a target (stacking up to 5 times). With this damage buff and the extension of debuffs on your enemies, the Sin artifact is a great choice.
In order to unlock the Sin artifact, you will need to defeat the enemy called "Colossus of Memnon", which is a large open-world boss located in the top right corner of Brimstone Sands (map below as reference). You have a low chance at getting this item after defeating him, so you will likely need to defeat this enemy multiple times before you come across this artifact. The respawn timer for this enemy is round 6 minutes.
War Hammer Artifacts
Spark of Mjölnir
The Spark of Mjölnir artifact is a resemblance of Thor's hammer, as it's greatly powered by the Lightning element. The unique perk of this artifact is known as Mjölnir Blessing, which converts 99% of hammer damage to lightning, and also provides the player a buff that deals an additional 20% more lighning damage with both of their weapons. It's important to also call-out that there are two weapon perks that further buff Mighty Gavel, so it's best practice to ensure you utilize this ability when using this artifact.
In order to unlock this artifact, you will need to defeat the "Chardis" boss within the mutated version of the Lazarus Instrumentality expedition. If you're struggling taking this boss down, be sure to check out our Lazarus Instrumentality guide.
Trsna

This artifact also has additional perks related to gaining health, including Lifestealing and Trenchant Recovery.
Due to the overall nature of this artifact, it's recommended to pair it with other weapons that utilize abilities that can knock down your enemies, such as the Spear of Flail. It's also recommended to utilize specific War Hammer abilities that specialize in knocking down enemies, such as Wrecking Ball and Clear Out.
In order to unlock the Trsna artifact, you will need to defeat the "Typhon" boss within the "Hive of Gorgons" 10-man raid. You have a small chance of gaining this artifact after defeating Typhon, and it's not guranteed, so you will likely need to try multiple times before getting your hands on this one!
Great Axe Artifacts
The Abyss
The Abyss is an extremely interesting (and useful) great axe artifact that opens the doors of possibilties when it comes to plausible builds with the great axe. The Abyss has two very unique perks known as Darken Blade and Abyss.
Darken Blade converts 99% of damage with the great axe to void damage, and if your Intelligence attribute is higher, replaces the base weapon scaling from Strength directly with Intelligence. This is a big deal, as it allows players to use magical secondary weapons that will directly scale with the great axe, making it possible to run very powerful great axe builds that are paired with the Fire Staff, Ice Gauntlet, or even Void Gauntlet.
The other unique perk is known as Abyss, which deals 15% more damage when mana is below 100%, making it even more powerful when paired with one of the magical weapons listed above that utilizes mana.
In order to unlock The Abyss, you will need to defeat level 65 Corrupted Breaches. It is recommended to watch the "global" chat in your server, as many times players will say, "x portals", indicating that a group of players are forming together to take down these high-level breaches. By succesfully taking down one of these level 65 corrupted portals, you have a small chance of receiving this artifact. It will likely take you a handful of chances before actually getting your hands on this artifact!
To learn more about how you can utilize The Abyss with the Void Gauntlet, view the video below.
Tempest Fury
The Tempest Fury great axe artifact allows New World: Aeternum players to experience a true "spin-to-win" build. This artifact has two unique perks that directly buff the Whirlwind ability. The first is called "Momentum", which states that succesful attacks will grant the user a 3% movement speed for 3s (working on both weapons, with max stacks of 10 times). The second perk is "Endless Spin", which calls removes the requirement for the Whirlwind ability to hit targets in order to continue spinning, and also increasing the total number of spinds you can spin to 12 times.
This build can be a lot of fun when playing with a healer, as you will rapidly gain damage and fortfiy buffs through the use of these Whirlwind-specific abilities.
In oder to unlock the Tempest Fury artifact, you will need to complete the Winter Rune Forge activity. You will have a small chance of picking up this artifact in the Winter Rune Forge Spoils crate you get when completing the activity.
To learn more about the specific details on using this artifact within a spin-to-win build, view the video below.
Greatsword Artifacts
Serenity
The Serenity greatsword artifact is known for it's massive damage output, and is typically always picked up for greatsword builds. This artifact has the unique perk called Balanced Blade, which provides a +2% empower stack per attack while in the offense stance (max of 10 stacks), and a +2% fortify stack when hit for 5s (max of 10 stacks) when in the defense stance.
Due to the fact that players can quickly stack a great amount of empower, and also that this weapon utilizes Trenchant Strikes and Trenchant Crits, this artifact has insane damage output potential.
In order to unlock Serenity, your PvP rewards track must be at least at level 20. At level 20 and onwards, you will have the small chance of this artifact appearing in the third reward checkpoint area of your PvP rewards track.
Grace
The Grace greatsword artifact is great for players that love to move fast. This artifact's unique perk is known as "Offensive Speed", which allows players to gain one 20% movement speed buff for 6s when you change your stance to the offensive stance.
This increase in movement speed is very helpful for certain chase builds, allowing you to close the gaps much easier when chasing down low-con healers and/or ranged players.
In order to unlock this artifact, you must reach level 80 in the Season 6 rewards track.
Bow Artifacts
Boltcaster
The Boltcaster bow artifact is a highly used weapon throughout the lands of Aeternum, and that's primarily due to the massive amount of elemental damage this weapon can dish off. This artifact has two unique perks, with the first being called Electrified. This perk converts 99% of this weapon's damage to lightning damage, and increases lightning damage from basic attacks by 20% for both weapons. The other perk is known as Bolt, which allows basic attacks to build up stacks of static charge that lasts 3s. Hitting an enemy with your bow once you have 3 stacks will consume the charges, and trigger a bolt of lightning, dealing 80% damage.
Since this artifact pushes so much elemental damage, some users tend to sprinkle in some intelligence within their attribute mixes in order to get the added elements damage boost at 150 Intelligence (+15% elemental damage).
In order to unlock Boltcaster, players must defeat the "Annoyed Aguascia" enemy that spawns in the top right corner of the Elysian Wilds. This is one of the three gorilla mobs that will spawn in this area. Feel free to reference the map below for his exact location.
Musket Artifacts
The Mechanic
The Mechanic is a trap-focused musket that allows players to create a true trap-heavy build. This musket artifact has the unique perk known as Extra Levers, which reduces the cooldown of traps and Sticky Bomb by 20%. This artifact does not get a lot of love, simply because there doesn't seem to be a lot of trap-focused musket users in the game today. However, if this is something you might be interested in playing around with, then it's worth picking up this artifact.
In order to unlock The Mechanic, you will need to defeat the "Toy Maker Phthah" enemy, which is located in the lower right side of the Elysian Wilds. Below is a map of where exactly you can find this enemy.
Shield Artifacts
Gladiator
The Gladiator round shield artifact is one of the most interesting shields out there, primarily due to its potential of contributing to overall damage output. The unique perk for this shield is called Jagged Spikes, which allows players to inflict a bleed on their attackers (when you are hit or when you block an attack), dealing 10% of your weapon damage every second for 6s.
This artifact is commonly paired with the Spear or Rapier due to the potential of a heavy bleed build.
In order to unlock Gladiator, you will need to defeat the "Tribunal Ice Mammoth" enemy, which is located in the Elysian Wilds territory. Luckily, there are a handful of these mammoths that spawn in a group, increasing the overall speed of farming these enemies for the artifact drop. Below is an exact image of where you can find these Tribunal Ice Mammoth mobs.
Michael
The Michael kite shield artifact has a handful of unique perks, making it useful for specific tanking builds. These perks include Refreshing Cleanse, which reduces cooldowns by 5%, and removes a debuff after blocks, the Counter Attack perk, which provides a 30% empower to the user after blocking, and the Healing Defense perk, which heals for 3% base health afer blocks (with a 3s cooldown).
This kite shield artifact is a great addition to most tank builds, due to the ability to quickly regain health in times of need, while also having the ability to stack up some empower to help dish off some major damage.
In order to unlock Michael, your PvP rewards track must be at least at level 20. At level 20 and onwards, you will have the small chance of this artifact appearing in the third reward checkpoint area of your PvP rewards track.
The Wall
The Wall is the tower shield artifact that a large number of tanks prefer, primarily due to some of the insane defensive perks that are provided with this weapon. The first unique perk is known as Shield Wall, which provides the user a 5% base damage reduction, in exchange for the ability to dodge. You will not be able to dodge with this artifact equipped, however, you will also be granted an additional 33% stamina, maximizing the amount of times you can block attacks.
Additionally, this artifact has the "Chromatic Ward" perk, which makes users take 25% less damage from all elemental sources (which is extremely common in all PvE and PvP activities).
In order to unlock this artifact, you must defeat the "Heru" boss within the mutated version of the Ennead expedition. If you're struggling taking this boss down, be sure to check out our The Ennead guide.
Fire Staff Artifacts
Inferno
The Inferno fire staff artifact is quite similar to the approach of The Abyss's int-scaling perk, but in reverse. With Inferno, players will receive the perk known as Inner Power, which replaces the base weapon scaling of the first staff from Intelligence to the Strength attribute (if the player's Strength attribute is higher). This perk also grants an additional 15% damage bonus when you hit an enemy within 15m.
Due to the nature of this unique ability, players will have the opportunity to pair the Fire Staff with Strength-scaling weapons more efficiently, such as the Great Axe, Greatsword, and War Hammer.
In order to unlock Inferno, players must defeat the "Commander Marius" boss within the mutated version of the Empyrean Forge expedition. If you're struggling taking this boss down, be sure to check out our Empyrean Forge guide.
Life Staff Artifacts
Vengeance
The Vengeance life staff artifact changes the script for the typical healer, as it's the most offensive-focused life staff in the game. With it's unique perk, Nature's Vengeance, users will gain a 1% damage buff every time they succesfully heal, stacking up to 20 times.
This will allow players to utilize the Life Staff for more than just healing, but also potentially dishing off some additional damage as they heal. This artifact is not widley used, as most healers will typically utilize the Void Gauntlet for additional damage output and buffs, rather than trying to balance both healing and damage output on a single weapon.
In order to unlock Vengeance, your PvP rewards track must be at least at level 20. At level 20 and onwards, you will have the small chance of this artifact appearing in the third reward checkpoint area of your PvP rewards track.
Spear Artifacts
Scorpion's Sting
The Scorpion's Sting spear artifact is definitely a fan-favorite, due to the fact that it's unique perk has a major impact on gameplay. Sting transforms Javelin into something completely new, now allowing you to pull targets directly towards you, dealing an additional 100% weapon damage. The one downside to this perk is that the default cooldown is increased to 20s, and it can only be reduced by conditional cooldown reduction methods.
Players tend to utilize this artifact quite a bit in Outpost Rush matches in order to pull healers and ranged players off of their forts' walls, pulling them down to the ground in front of your team.
In order to unlock Scorpion's Sting, players must defeat the "Scorpio Supernal" enemy that's located near the top middle of the Brimestone Sands territory. This one is a bit tricky, as this enemy only spawns once per night, so you will want to make sure you're there right before the day turns to night to ensure you land a hit on this enemy. Below is a map of where exactly you can find this enemy.
Venom
The Venom spear artifact is known for its ability to dish off major damage-over-time (DoT) effects to enemies. With the unique perk, Poison Tipped, heavy melee attacks with either weapon will cause poison, dealing 15% weapon damage for 5s.
There has been a large number of tanks that have utilized this artifact in their build to help with ongoing damage output, and ensuring they also utilize additional Spear perks for crowd control (such as the Sweep ability).
In order to unlock Venom, players must defeat the "Siren Queen" within the PvE arena located in Reekwater.
Rapier Artifacts
Finisher
The Finisher rapier artifact is very commonly used within light DPS builds, and can help create one of the most effective DPS burst damage builds in the game. This artifact has the Finisher Harmony perk, which grants attacks against bleeding targets a 15% damage buff, and provides a 5% cooldown reduction to Flourish and Finish.
Inflicting large amounts of bleeds and finishing your combos with Flourish and Finish can lead to a massive amount of damage at a very high speed. This artifact can commonly be found within M3 expedition groups due to this high damage output.
In order to unlock the Finisher rapier artifact, you must defeat the "Montrapala the Unruled" enemy, located in the top right corner of the Elysian Wilds territory. Below is an exact image of where you can find this enemy.

The unique perk for this artifact is known as Negative Energy, which provides all ranged attacks with the ability to inflict Disintegrate for 8s. Due to this unique perk providing major ranged attack buffs, players tend to pair this directly with the Bow.
In order to unlock Lifetaker, you must defeat the "Pugnacious Purutu" enemy, which is a very large gorilla enemy found in the top right corner of the Elysian Wilds. Below is an exact image of where you can find this enemy.

It is recommended to watch the "global" chat in your server, as many times players will say, "x portals", indicating that a group of players are forming together to take down these high-level breaches. Additionally, you will be healed for 200 + 2% of your max health, making it extremely useful for light builds that get up close and personal.
In order to unlock the Tumbler Feetwraps, players must participate in an Outpost Rush match, and then you get a small chance of obtaining this artifact from an Outpost Rush Cache.
Creed Boots
The Creed Boots light shoes artifact can be helpful when trying to deal a decent amount of burst damage from a distance. With the Ambush perk, players will deal 15% more damage and have a 25% higher critical chance as long as they haven't hit the target within 20 seconds. In other words, it helps you ensure your first hit packs a punch.
In order to unlock the Creed Boots artifact, players must defeat mobs within the "Attalus's Foundry" zone, which is located in the top left corner of the Ebonscale Reach territory. Below is an image of where exactly you can find these mobs.
Amulet Artifacts
Lost Stopwatch
The Lost Stopwatch amulet artifact are commonly used by tanks when playing PvE content. That's because of its unique Stunny Gaze perk, which makes taunts active, generating 300% more threat, and increasing all stuns by 2 second. The negative side of using this artifact though is that it also decreases base damage by 10%.
In order to unlock the Lost Stopwatch, you must defeat the "Commander Thorpe" boss within the mutated version of the Depths expedition. If you're struggling taking this boss down, be sure to check out our Depths expedition guide.
Ankh
The Ankh amulet artifact is likely the most commonly used amulet artifact between them all. This is because of the Center of Attention perk, which makes all consumables, lifesteal, and outgoing heals 25% weaker, but all other healing 25% stronger. What's nice about this amulet is that it also has the Health and Divine perks, which are grat combinations for medium and heavy builds.
In order to unlock Ankh, your PvP rewards track must be at least at level 20. At level 20 and onwards, you will have the small chance of this artifact appearing in the third reward checkpoint area of your PvP rewards track.
Phoenix
The Phoenix arifact has recently been growing in popularity due to its ability to keep you alive in times of trouble. With the Phoenix Vengeance perk, players can avoid death after receiving lethal damage, and regain 100% health. Afterwards, you will be inflicted with Phoenix Vengeance, reducing healing by 200% and taking damage equal to 20% of your max health every second until you die or get killed. This perk has a 180 second cooldown, and is essentially a "let it all out one last time before you die" approach.
In order to unlock the Phoenix, you must defeat the "Palace Maiden Xiao" mob, which is located in the Imperial Palace within the Ebonscale Reach territory.
Earring Artifacts
Endless Thirst
The Endless Thirst earring artifact is one of the most commonly used artifacts that's chosen when it comes to jewelry. That's because of the multiple useful perks that's included in this item, including the unique The Thirst perk. This perk grants all healing consumables with a 33% buff, but makes healing potion cooldowns 25% longer. On top of this, players can utilize the Empowering Toast and Fortifying Toast perks, granting themselves a boost in empower and fortify after every potion drink (with a 10s cooldown).
In order to unlock Endless Thirst, you must defeat the "Manhantaram" boss within the mutated version of the Savage Divide expedition. If you're struggling taking this boss down, be sure to check out our Savage Divide expediiton guide.
Ring Artifacts
Blooddrinker
The Blooddrinker ring artifact is an amazing add-on for any builds that specialize in lifesteal. With the Ghoul's Harmony perk, players receive a debuff of 25% overall damage, but also receives a 25% increase in lifesteal. Additionally, all healing from lifesteal is increased by 5%, making lifesteal builds extremely difficult to take down.
In order to unlock Blooddrinker, you must defeat the "Greundgul the Regent" boss within the mutated version of the Empyrean Forge expedition. If you're struggling taking this boss down, be sure to check out our Empyrean Forge expediiton guide.
Elemental Band
The Elemental Band artifact is one of the newest artifacts added to the game, and also a very unique one. This is due to its unique perk known as "Elemental Affinity". With this perk, whenever you hit a target with an elemental damage attack (not including DoT or Attunements), you gain a 4% empower buff for 6 seconds. There is a 10s cooldown for this per damage type, with a max stack of 1 per type. With that being said, this ring could be interesting to use for builds that utilize multiple elements, such as a Mage that uses the Fire Staff and Ice Gauntlet.
In order to unlock the Elemental Band artifact, you will need to defeat the "Broodmother Medusa" boss within the "Hive of Gorgons" 10-man raid. You have a small chance of gaining this artifact after defeating Broodmother Medusa, and it's not guranteed - so you will likely need to try multiple times before getting your hands on this one!
