Chevreuse Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact
Chevreuse is a 4 Star Pyro Polearm Support character, who specializes in increasing the damage done by Pyro and Electro characters. She shreds resistance within those elements, gives ATK % buffs to party members, as well as Elemental DMG Bonus with constellations. She also provides some healing on top. The caveat is that she only provides these bonuses to Pyro and Electro characters.
Chevreuse Introduction
Chevreuse is a 4-star Pyro Polearm Support Character in Genshin Impact who
mainly focuses on provides large amounts of DMG buffs to Pyro
and Electro Characters and some healing to the team. She only
really works with those two elements, having it as a hard requirement in some of
her passives.
This guide will focus on Chevreuse's best
weapons, builds, artifacts, teambuilding and more!
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Amazing support for Pyro and Electro.
- Easy and accessible weapons in general.
- Able to be built to burst aswell at C4.
- Very limited in team building, due to requiring the team to be only Pyro/Electro.
- Building for DMG will partly lower her supportive skills (less healing and ATK % to the team).
- Overload can be a drawback due to the reaction's inherent knockback.
Support Build
This is the general build you want on Chevreuse. It primarily focuses on maximizing her supportive and healing capacities, so that your Main and Sub DPS can deal higher damage. It is also the easier build to set up.

As Chevreuse is majorily a support character, building damage on her is not necessary. This can be seen in her stat priority, as we focus on getting 40,000 HP to cap out her first Ascension Talent, and then CRIT Rate because of her best weapon being Favonius Lance. Noblesse Oblige is best if you have enough Energy Recharge to be able to use her Burst with every rotation and if you do not have another character in your party who already uses it. Otherwise, Ocean-Hued Clam is better. An alternative to Ocean Hued Clam is Song of Days Past, use whichever of the two sets you have better substats with. Running double 2p sets is also viable for the same reason (Mainly aim for 20% HP, 20% Energy Recharge or 15% Healing Bonus sets if possible)
If you do not have Favonius Lance, then Black Tassel is a great replacement and usually very easy to get, as its a 3-star weapon. Dialogues of the Desert Sages is also a strong pick, having HP % and giving a lot of energy. This removes most if not all of her Energy Recharge needs however, this is an event weapon, so might not be available to everyone. When leveling her Talents, prioritize her Skill first, then Burst. Do not bother with the Normal Attack talent, as you will only really have to use Normal/Charged Attacks if you do not proc Favonius on your Skill/Burst.
Burst Support Build
Chevreuse can opt in for more damage after her Burst if you have her 4th Constellation, The Secret to Rapid-Fire Multishots as it allows her to use her Skill twice in rapid succession after casting her Burst. Do note, that you will lower her healing and ATK % buffs by building more damage into her Burst and Skill, as you will not hit the 40,000 HP cap on her buffs.

Talent Priority |

These are the priorities to building Chevreuse as a Burst Support. Do note that while this works, it is not always a large enough damage increase to Chevreuse's personal damage to make the on-field time worth it. However if you like the playstyle, that doesn't matter, and this is how you would build her if you want to.
The Selection of weapons is a lot more offensive this time, which also makes the list of weapons a lot longer. The higher up the list, the better the weapon is, but do remember to consider where the weapon could be better. There is no need to give Engulfing Lightning to Chevreuse if you are also using Raiden Shogun in that team composition, where Raiden benefits a lot more from the weapon.
Combos and How to Play Chevreuse
Chevreuse is relatively simple to use. Swap her in after triggering Overload once, to trigger her 2nd Ascension Passive Vanguard's Coordinated Tactics. You will give your party up to 40% ATK, while the Overload you triggered before swapping in Chevreuse shreds the enemies Pyro and Electro RES by 40%. This RES Shred is a better equivalent to Viridescent Venerer, since you shred both resistances at once.
If you decided to build Chevreuse as a Burst Support, then you want have her on-field more. This is due how The Secret to Rapid-Fire Multishots (C4) allows her to cast her Elemental Skill, Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire, thrice, as it will reset twice within 6s after casting her Burst. It is important that you hold her Skill and do not tab it, as it will otherwise not reset. Her skill also has a 15s cooldown normally, so make sure to not cast it before her Burst. Outside of this, Chevreuse's Skill has an internal 10s CD on generating particles, so you can't funnel more energy with this.
Chevreuse's Best Team Comps
Chevreuse's main team compositions all revolve around Overload, as its her entire gimmick. This limits us to only use Electro and Pyro characters. The lists below are not comprehensive and the first listing is a general list of characters who work well with her.
General characters for Chevreuse Team Comps
Chevreuse | Electro | On-field Flex | Off-field Flex |
---|---|---|---|
Chevreuse |
This is a longer list of characters that can work well with Overload setups. Remember to always have 1 Electro in the team as a minimum, so that Chevreuse's first Ascension passive triggers. Do remember to consider what requirements the other characters you use have. Beidou for example requires you to play Fischl aswell, as Beidou really needs an off-field battery to help her with building her Burst. Xiangling would also need some good Energy funnelling if you only play with Chevreuse next to her.
Ranged Overload Team Comp
Chevreuse | Electro | On-field Flex | Off-field Flex |
---|---|---|---|
Chevreuse | Fischl | Yoimiya |
Yoimiya is a great pick for Overload comps, as she is using her Normal Attacks to deal Pyro DMG (Pyro infused from her Skill) while also being a bow user. This negates the biggest drawback of Overload, as it knocks back targets hit by the explosion. With this, we use Fischl to provide us with Electro application. Whether you use Beidou or Bennett depends on what you like the most. Bennett provides more ATK DMG to Yoimiya, while Beidou provides Yoimiya with Interrupt RES (which Yoimiya really wants). Beidou's damage is dependant on how many targets are available, as her burst will chain, which means its damage potential requires 2+ targets.
National Overload Team
Chevreuse | Electro | Off-field Flex | Off-field Flex |
---|---|---|---|
Chevreuse | Xiangling | Bennett |
This is a twist on Raiden Shogun's National Team Comp, where we have replaced Xingqiu with Chevreuse. Nothing in the team comp changes otherwise, and the rotation is the same as described in Raiden's guide under her National Team.

Chevreuse Ascension Passives and Materials
Unlock | Ascension Passive | Explanation |

4th Ascension | Vertical Force Coordination | After Chevreuse fires an Overcharged Ball with Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire, she buff nearby party members with 1% ATK per 1000 Max HP Chevreuse have for 30s. This buff caps at 40% ATK (at 40.000 Max HP) |
Chevreuse requires a range of materials to ascend to the 6th ascension. Starting from the second ascension she gains additional HP as her bonus stat giving a total of 24% increased HP at the final ascension. The total cost to upgrade all ascensions is:

Chevreuse's Talents
Listed below is each talent and a brief explanation of how they work.
Type | Talent Name | Brief Explanation |
---|---|---|
Normal | Normal Attack: Line Bayonet Thrust EX | Standard Normal attack that is a 4-combo hit. Charged Attack is the usual Polearm Charged Attack, where you lunge in a line forward, dealing damage. |
Elemental Skill | Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire |
Chevreuse quickly fires a shot from her musket, dealing AoE Pyro DMG.After shooting her musket, the active character will be healed every 2 seconds for 12 seconds. The healing is based on Chevreuse's Max HP. You can also hold the skill, which allows you to aim the skill instead. If you have an Overcharged Ball available, this will be used to deal more Pyro DMG in a larger area. You get an Overcharged Ball whenever a nearby character triggers Overload. You can only hold 1 Overcharged Ball at a time. Arkhe Ousia: After firing a shot, a Surging Blade will periodically hit a target, dealing Ousia-aligned Pyro DMG. |
Elemental Burst | Ring of Bursting Grenades | Chevreuse fires an explosive grenade, dealing AoE Pyro DMG. After the grenade explodes, secondary grenades are scattered in a ring around the impact zone, exploding after a short interval, dealing Pyro DMG to nearby opponents. |
To upgrade a single talent to level 10, it costs:
Source | Quantity |
---|---|
Mora | 1,625,500 Mora |
Special Material | 1x Crown of Insight |
Boss Material | 6x Lightless Eye of the Maelstrom |
|
|
Enhancement Material |

Chevreuse's Constellations
As with many of 4star characters, they tend to have a lot of power in their constellations. Chevreuse is no different, with her strongest constellation being In Pursuit of Ending Evil (C6). However as with other 4-star characters, it is not worth it roll on a banner just for the her. Feel free to roll after her if the featured 5-star is someone you want too.
Constellation | Name | Explanation |
---|---|---|
1 | Stable Front Line's Resolve | When your Active character triggers Overload while having Coordinated Tactics, they recover 6 Energy. This can only trigger once every 10s and Chevreuse herself cannot trigger this. |
2 | Sniper Induced Explosion | After Hold firing Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire and hitting a target, 2 chain explosions will be triggered close to the target. Each explosion deals 120% of Chevreuse's ATK as Pyro DMG and can only be triggered once every 10s. The DMG done by these explosions are considered Elemental Skill DMG. |
3 | Practiced Field Stripping Technique |
|
4 | The Secret to Rapid-Fire Multishots | After using Ring of Bursting Grenades, the Hold fire of Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire will not go on cooldown when Chevreuse use it. This effect is only active untill you have used Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire twice or up to 6s. |
5 | Enhanced Incendiary Firepower |
|
6 | In Pursuit of Ending Evil |
