Season of Discovery Feral Druid Tank Talents and Runes
On this page, you will find out the best PvE talents for your Feral Druid Tank in WoW Classic — Season of Discovery, as well as advised runes.
Feral Druid Tank Talent Build
This is a main-tank build that assumes you mostly go into Cat Form for heavy movement, if at all. Otherwise, if you want to maximize your Cat Form DPS, please refer to the Feral Druid DPS talent build.
As Furor is not necessary for a main-tank build, we can put all points into the Feral tree to unlock Leader of the Pack and the other Bear-related goodies, such as Heart of the Wild and Primal Fury. Spare points go into the Balance tree for Natural Weapons's strong passive damage increase.
Feline Swiftness is also taken because it works indoors on Season of Discovery, and thus it will allow you to use Cat Form to quick move around, especially while moving from boss to boss or trying to keep ahead of overeager raid members while picking up mob packs.
Recommended Rune Engravings
- Gloves — Mangle
- Pants — Lacerate
- Chest — Survival of the Fittest or Wild Strikes if needed for group
- Waist — Berserk
- Feet — Survival Instincts
- Head — Gore (Threat) or Improved Barkskin (Survivability)
- Wrist — Improved Frenzied Regeneration
- Back — Improved Swipe
- Ring — Feral Combat Specialization
- Ring — Defense Specialization
Main tank Runes are quite straightforward: pick up extra survivability with Survival of the Fittest or extra DPS for your physical DPS heavy group with Wild Strikes and Mangle plus Lacerate as main attacks.
Berserk is a fantastic cooldown which will ensure high snap threat on pull, especially in area of effect tanking scenarios, and Survival Instincts is a new tank cooldown which can be used in Bear Form and also gives you Rage when you Dodge, allowing for smooth threat generation, even if you are not getting Rage from being hit!
Gore is a good rune for increasing your DPS and threat output, but Improved Barkskin is a defensive alternative that converts Barkskin into a great tank cooldown which can also be cast on other player. Improved Frenzied Regeneration is also a good pick, as it converts Frenzied Regeneration into potentially much more health than its base version ever did.
Finally, Improved Swipe allows you to dish out serious area threat by increasing the amount of targets hit to 10, Feral Combat Specialization provides a very important skill boost which translates into much higher Hit chance and less Glancing Blow penalty against end game bosses, and Defense Specialization increases your Avoidance for the low cost of a Rune slot.
