Holy Paladin PvP Talents and Builds — The War Within (Season 1)

Below is the talent build you should use in PvP:

While the above table provides a generally accurate overview of the viability of talents, some finer points are discussed in the sections that follow, and we recommend you read those for a deeper understanding.

Some important spells to note in the Paladin talent tree:

• Blinding Light/ Repentance. Blinding Light is great if your team already has a lot of stuns and a diminishing return with Repentance, like RMP. Important note: Repentance shares a diminishing return with spells like Polymorph. You should not take Repentance when playing with a Mage.
• Blessing of Protection/ Improved Blessing of Protection are vital talents to have. This is a powerful cooldown against any team that has melee damage or stuns.
• Empyreal Ward makes Lay on Hands a crucial cooldown, even late in dampening. This talent not only grants the target increased armor, but makes Lay on Hands ignore healing reduction effects.

Some important spells to note in the Holy Paladin Talent tree:

• Saved by the Light is a crucial talent to have in every matchup. This provides a large absorption shield on a teammate that gets low on health and is great for when you are stuck in crowd control.
• Inflorescence of the Sunwell gives your Infusion of Light procs an additional charge and reduces the Mana cost of Flash of Light. This is important so you can have multiple procs active simultaneously and not miss out on healing.
• Tyr's Deliverance is one of your best cooldowns. This puts a HoT on any teammates you have and they will take increased healing from your Holy Light, Flash of Light, and Holy Shock.

You can choose 3 of the following PvP talents, each has uses, but some are better for certain strategies than others. The top three choices are the most useful but can be replaced with other PvP talents, depending on your team's goal.

Blessed Hands makes your Blessing of Freedom and Blessing of Protection now have an additional charge. This gives you additional utility for your teammates and gives you multiple defenses. Abilities like Blessing of Freedom and Blessing of Protection are already strong, but with 2 charges, you will have much utility during an arena match.

Divine Vision increases the range of your Aura by 30 yards and reduces the cooldown of Aura Mastery by 60 seconds. This is great for increasing your team's passive survivability and being able to use Aura Mastery more often.

Searing Glare causes enemies to miss their spells and attacks for 4 seconds. This is a great talent if you can time it correctly. Use this against teams that will be within 25 yards of you and time it for when they use their burst cooldowns.

Denounce is used on an enemy and prevents the target from causing critical effects for the next 8 seconds. This replaces Shield of the Righteous. This is great versus specializations, like Fire Mage, that heavily rely on dealing critical strikes.

Cleanse the Weak makes it so that when you dispel a teammate affected by your Aura, one of your teammate's with the same DoT will have it dispelled. This is crucial versus specializations like Shadow Priest or Elemental Shaman. This will allow you to dispel Vampiric Touch on multiple teammates in one global cooldown.
