Holy Priest PvP Stat Priority, Gear, and Trinkets — The War Within (11.0.5)
Choosing your gear carefully is important for your Holy Priest in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the right stats, followed by advice on how to choose the rest of your gear and your trinkets.
This page is part of our Holy Priest PvP Guide.
Stat Priority for Holy Priests in PvP
The stat priority for Holy Priests in PvP is as follows:
- Intellect;
- Versatility;
- Mastery;
- Haste;
- Critical Strike.
Gear Recommendations
Intellect is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the strongest secondary stat at all times due to it increasing the damage/healing you do and, at the same time, reducing the damage you take. Though, you want to be around 30% Versatility and not overcap it since it will start to diminish from there on. Mastery will increase your overall healing output from Mastery: Echo of Light. Haste is a good stat as it reduces your global cooldown, increases your cast and channel speed, and reduces the cooldown of important spells, such as Prayer of Mending.
General Guidelines
Note that the Season 1 Tier set bonuses are all nerfed by 50% in PvP scenarios. You want to use PvP items as much as possible since they have increased item level in PvP combat. This is what your final gear should look like, including set pieces and crafted items:
- Head: Living Luster's Semblance
- Neck: Algari Competitor's Amulet - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
- Shoulders: Living Luster's Dominion
- Cloak: Forged Warmonger's Cape
- Chest: Living Luster's Raiment
- Wrists: Algari Competitor's Cloth Bands - Crafted with Haste & Mastery
- Hands: Living Luster's Touch
- Waist: Algari Competitor's Cloth Sash - Crafted with Haste & Mastery
- Legs: Forged Warmonger's Pants
- Feet: Forged Gladiator's Silk Treads
- Ring 1: Algari Competitor's Signet - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
- Ring 2: Forged Gladiator's Signet
- Trinket 1: Forged Gladiator's Medallion
- Trinket 2: Forged Gladiator's Insignia of Alacrity
- 2H Staff: Forged Gladiator's Greatstaff
Note: It is essential to be wearing 2 PvP trinkets. This will give you a Stamina and stat boost that will increase your survivability.
Holy Priest Tier Set
As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is also important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed by 50% in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. For Holy Priest, this is your tier set:
- 2-set: Serendipity is 10% more effective.
- 4-set: Heal, Flash Heal, and Prayer of Healing have a 50% chance to cast again at 35% effectiveness.
Holy Priest Embellishments
Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These affects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have 2 Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Holy Priest:
- Energy Redistribution Beacon. While above 80% health, your direct healing will redistribute up to 2% of your health to your target. This is great for increasing your overall healing output. Because this affect does stack, it is recommended to use 2 of them.
- Duskthread Lining. This Embellishment significantly increases your Versatility when you are above 80% health.
Gems and Enchants
Here are the best enchants and gems for a Holy Priest:
- Cloak: Enchant Cloak - Chant of Leeching Fangs
- Chest: Enchant Chest - Council's Intellect
- Bracers: Enchant Bracer - Chant of Armored Speed
- Legs: Daybreak Spellthread
- Boots: Enchant Boots - Scout's March
- Rings: Enchant Ring - Glimmering Mastery
- Weapon: Enchant Weapon - Stonebound Artistry
Versatile Onyx is the best gem you can use. You also get access to a single Meta Gem. You should use Cognitive Bloodstone for the meta slot.
