Marksmanship Hunter DPS Stat Priority — The War Within (11.0.5)

Marksmanship likes Crit, and lots of it. There is practically no scenario where Crit is not your best stat. After that comes Mastery, Versatility, and Haste roughly equally spaced out in terms of value. The relative values of the bottom 3 stats can shift depending on the specifics of your character, but Crit being #1 is pretty reliable.

There are points at which certain stats will start offering less benefit. These are the points of diminishing return. After this point, stats will give progressively less benefit. This does not necessarily mean that a Stat will no longer be good past its point of diminishing returns, but if you find yourself crossing them, you should pay special attention to your sims and find out if you should look for different stats.

• 21000 Crit, or 44%;
• 19800 Haste, or 30%;
• 23400 Versatility, or 30%
• 21000 Mastery Rating

Gearing decisions will not always be clear-cut. Agility is your primary stat. It provides you with Attack Power, which determines the damage your abilities do across the board.

Mastery, through Mastery: Sniper Training, grants you increased damage on all your abilities and increases your maximum shot range.

Haste increases your auto attack speed and Focus regeneration, reduces your Global Cooldown from 1.5 seconds to a minimum of 0.750 seconds, and reduces the cooldown on your Aimed Shot ability.

Critical Strike increases your chance to critically hit with all spells and abilities. Crits deal double damage by default, but several effects can increase your crit damage, and make crits even stronger.

Versatility increases all your damage and healing done, and decreases all damage taken.
