Preservation Evoker PvP Stat Priority, Gear, and Trinkets — The War Within (11.0.5)
Choosing your gear carefully is essential for your Preservation Evoker in PvP. We give you a stat priority to help you choose items with the correct stats, followed by advice on how to select the rest of your gear and your trinkets.
This page is part of our Preservation Evoker PvP Guide.
Stat Priority for Preservation Evokers in PvP
The stat priority for Preservation Evokers in PvP is as follows:
- Intellect;
- Versatility;
- Mastery;
- Haste;
- Critical Strike.
Intellect is the best stat in all situations. Versatility is the most important secondary stat as it increases the healing you do and reduces the damage you take. Mastery ( Mastery: Life-Binder) is the next best stat to get as it increases the healing you do to your teammates that have less health than you.
Gear Recommendations
General Guidelines
In general, Preservation Evokers want to get trinkets that increase their overall healing output. These trinkets can have a passive or on-use effect. The stat you want to be increasing is Versatility. The reason you want to increase Versatility is because it increases both your damage and healing and reduces the damage you take. For gear, you want anything that has Versatility and Mastery on it. This will increase your overall damage output and your survivability. Here is the best equipment we recommend you use as a Preservation Evoker.
- Head: Horns of the Destroyer
- Neck: Algari Competitor's Amulet - Crafted with Versatility & Haste
- Shoulders: Fumaroles of the Destroyer
- Cloak: Forged Warmonger's Cloak
- Chest: Algari Competitor's Chain Chainmail - Crafted with Versatility and Mastery
- Wrists: Forged Warmonger's Armguards
- Hands: Rippers of the Destroyer
- Waist: Forged Warmonger's Cinch
- Legs: Legguards of the Destroyer
- Feet: Algari Competitor's Chain Treads - Crafted with Versatility & Mastery
- Ring 1: Forged Gladiator's Ring
- Ring 2: Algari Competitor's Signet - Crafted with Versatility & Haste
- Trinket 1: Forged Gladiator's Medallion
- Trinket 2: Forged Gladiator's Insignia of Alacrity
- 2H-Weapon: Forged Gladiator's Staff
Note: It is essential to be wearing 2 PvP trinkets. This will give you a Stamina and stat boost that will increase your survivability.
Preservation Evoker Tier Set
As noted above, acquiring both your 2-set and 4-set bonus is crucial. It is also important to note that ALL tier sets are nerfed by 50% in PvP. Although this nerf is significant, tier sets are still important to acquire to maximize your chances of winning. For Preservation Evokers, this is your tier set:
- 2-set: Reversion's healing is increased by 10%, and it has a 50% chance to grant 1 additional stack of Temporal Compression.
- 4-set: Temporal Compression increases the healing of your next empower spell by 10% per stack.
4-set is not required for Preservation Evokers, but getting 2-set is recommended.
Preservation Evoker Embellishments
Embellishments are bonuses that can be put on crafted gear. These affects can have a drastic impact on the game. You are only allowed to have 2 Embellishments equipped at the same time. Here are the recommended Embellishments for Preservation Evokers:
- Energy Redistribution Beacon. While above 80% health, your direct healing will redistribute up to 2% of your health to your target. This is great for increasing your overall healing output. Because this affect does stack, it is recommended to use 2 of them.
- Duskthread Lining. This Embellishment significantly increases your Versatility when you are above 80% health.
Gems and Enchants
Here are the best enchants for a Preservation Evoker:
- Cloak: Enchant Cloak - Whisper of Silken Speed
- Chest: Enchant Chest - Council's Intellect
- Bracers: Enchant Bracer - Chant of Armored Speed
- Legs: Daybreak Spellthread
- Boots: Enchant Boots - Scout's March
- Rings: Enchant Ring - Cursed Versatility
- Weapon: Enchant Weapon - Stormrider's Fury
Masterful Emerald is the best gem you can use. You also get access to 1 Meta Gem. You should use Cognitive Bloodstone for the meta slot.
