Strategy for The Molten Core
The Molten Core is a challenging new encounter available only to players on Heat Level 3. The Molten Core starts the fight off with 0 Energy and will slowly fill it up over time, casting Doomsday when reaching max energy, instantly wiping the raid. The Molten Core will also gain additional abilities and increased powers as it gains energy, making this fight very healer intensive the longer it lasts. Flare is the main raid-wide damage of the fight, dealing pulsing Fire damage to the entire raid; damage dealt is further increased the higher The Molten Cores Energy level reaches.
One tank will need to be assigned, one for The Molten Core and one to taunt as many Primal Flame Elementals as possible. The tanks will need to swap assignments periodically throughout the fight, as the tank assigned to The Molten Core will get stacks of Melt Armor. The tank assigned to the Primal Flame Elementals will need to taunt and stun them as often as possible to break their Fixate on the nearby friendly Hydraxian Firefighters, which are providing aid to the raid. Group the Primal Flame Elementals as closely together as possible and AoE them down every time they are summoned.
Aside from constantly needing to deal with adds, the entire raid needs to be ready to avoid the Meteors as they deal nearly lethal damage at their impact area. As The Molten Core gains Energy, Meteor will add an additional projectile every time it is cast, up to 3 in total. This makes it more and more difficult to avoid these later into the encounter, but avoiding these should still be the main priority for the raid.
Occasionally The Molten Core will cast both Heart of Cinder and Heart of Ash on random targets; requiring the two players to touch each other to remove the debuffs. Have a pre-assigned location for these players to quickly meet up and remove these Fire damage-over-time debuffs as soon as possible.
The Molten Core Loot
The Molten Core does not drop any specific loot, but instead drops a random assortment of items from the other 10 bosses, making the boss fight entirely optional! Check out our Season of Discovery raid loot list below and to see what drops are available.
