Thaldraszus Dragonriding Races (10.0.2)

Thaldraszus has 8 races; below we will detail some tips and tricks for each race along with a video showing each race completed on both Normal and Advanced difficulties with a gold timer.

• There are many tight turns and small gaps to fly through on this course. Be careful with your Surge Forward uses in these areas as this could cost you a lot of time.
• There are not many Wind Boosts on this course so you will need to be considerate of your Vigor.
• Advanced Only: Unlike the Normal race there are many Vigor Nodes so you will have a lot of speed. This race is more about the control of your drake than needing to be fast to beat the timer. Smooth movement and constant use of Surge Forward will get you the gold time.
• Advanced Only:If you place your Bronze Timelock down before you start the race and use it as you hit the penultimate checkpoint to save 1-2 seconds. The finish point of this race is not next to where you start the race.

• Be careful to not hit the statue between the fourth and fifth checkpoint.
• As you get to the area with lots of small islands there will be a lot of Vigor Nodes, use Surge Forward a lot here to spend them otherwise you will go above 6 Vigor and just be wasting potential speed.
• Advanced Only: Stun Orbs will be in your way a lot on this race. Fly around them.
• Advanced Only: Be very careful as you fly through the building as there is a Stun Orb right below the Vigor node. Fortunately the hitboxes on the Vigor Nodes are quite large so you do not need to be that close to the Stun Orb.

• The very first ring of the race is underneath you. Point your camera down to see it.
• This race does not have many Wind Boosts; be mindful of your Vigor.
• This race also has Wind Boosts that push you up. Do not use Surge Forward as you approach these as they will push you very high up in the air, but kill all of your momentum. Be ready to use Surge Forward afterwards to gain speed.
• Advanced Only: You will need to fly through some tight gaps on Advanced. Be careful not to hit any edges as this will kill all of your momentum.
• Advanced Only: The Elemental Orbs can easily be dodged by flying around them.
• Advanced Only: You will be starved of Vigor in this race. Wasting Vigor will prevent you from reaching the gold timer.

• There are not many Wind Boosts on this course so you will need to be considerate of your Vigor and be ready to use Surge Forward to maintain Thrill of the Skies.
• Watch out for the floor during the cave section.
• Advanced Only: Unlike the Normal race there are many Vigor Nodes so you will have a lot of speed. Most of them are on the standard path that you will take, a couple will be slightly off to the side. Try and grab these. You can afford to miss 1 or 2, any more than that and you will run out of Vigor during the race.
• Advanced Only: You can place your Bronze Timelock where you start the race and use it as you hit the penultimate checkpoint to avoid needing to turn to the final checkpoint.

• There are lots of sharp turns in this race. Be mindful of this when using Surge Forward as you may travel too far and take an unwanted detour.
• Optional: Windborne Velocidrake has a slightly smaller hitbox than the other drakes making passing through small gaps easier.
• Advanced Only: You will have more Vigor than you need so you can safely use Surge Forward as much as you want! Be careful of the small gaps though.

• Before the race begins place your Bronze Timelock inside the building. As you hit the penultimate checkpoint use the ability to avoid needing to navigate inside the building at the end.
• Surge Forward to the first Wind Boost, you will regenerate this Vigor before you need it and this will make your initial race speed much faster.
• At the start of the race you will go through many Wind Boosts. Avoid using Surge Forward whilst you have the speed boost from them as after this section you will need to use your Vigor.
• Advanced Only: Many stun orbs are active in this race. You can safely fly around them.
• Advanced Only: As you reach the top of the cliff you will need to navigate around a small tree for two checkpoints. Be careful not to hit the tree as it will kill all of your momentum.
