Xiangling Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact

Xiangling is usually played as an off-field Sub DPS whose Pyro application can consistently produce Elemental Reactions for so many different teams. Most of her equipment choices are easy to farm, offering some great opportunity for F2P players. Overall, she scales well into the endgame after a decent amount of investment and can be a great asset for teams facing higher end content.

Xiangling's best in slot weapon choice is "The Catch". It is a 4-star farmable weapon that can be easily refined to Rank 5 from fishing activities. It boost some fantastic stats for Xiangling's play style to take advantage of with it's Energy Recharge stat and weapon skill that boosts Elemental Burst abilities. While there are other 5-star weapons, as shown above, that do offer some strong augments to Xiangling's damage output, getting them to their max potential is quite costly. As for other 4-star options, Deathmatch is a good choice but will require refinements to compete with "The Catch". Overall, Xiangling can use any of these weapons and excel.

Xiangling's Artifacts should focus on her Energy Recharge requirements. Depending on her team composition, she can require massive amounts of Energy Recharge to ensure proper rotations. By building her this way the rest of the team can help support her Pyronado's hefty 80 energy requirement. Xiangling functions best at over 200% Energy Recharge, which should be enough for most standard teams. While this can eat into some of her damage potential, we focus on building her as an off-field Pyro DPS. In the end, Xiangling is a fantastic F2P option that can be built into something truly special.

Xiangling's abilities can be quite powerful on the battlefield with her Elemental Burst, Pyronado, triggering some devastating Elemental Reactions. She can also help while off-field with her Elemental Skill Guoba Attack as a good source of Pyro application. Both of Xiangling's skills snapshot, so she can play well into situations where she can take advantage of any damage buffs. Overall, Xiangling's gameplay loop is all about timing and adding her Pyro DMG to your teammates elemental abilities. Let's take a look at some of the teams that will utilize her skills the best.

As we have previously mentioned, Xiangling will be an off-field Sub DPS for team compositions, built to take advantage of her Pyro reactions.

This build has been a top meta build ever since Raiden Shogun became available to players. This build uses Raiden’s DPS capabilities and amplifies them by stacking your team’s Elemental Bursts all together for her to take advantage of. Xiangling is primarily used for the power of her Pyronado, Bennett for their ATK boosts and Xingqiu for their Hydro application. When all three Elemental Bursts have been activated, you will then swap back to Raiden to activate her Elemental Burst, Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu, as the final piece to make this build skyrocket with damage.

This powerful team uses the combination of Xiangling and Bennett's Elemental Bursts to produce a powerful Vaporize reaction when we add Tartaglia into the combination. Sucrose or Kaedehara Kazuha are added to help provide Elemental RES Shred as well as Swirl reactions. Kazuha can also add his buffing capabilities to increase the team's overall damage. While Sucrose’s ability to group up enemies is not nearly as strong as Kazuha, she is still a solid flex choice for this team.

This build focuses on 4-star characters only as an additional National variant and has a lot of Elemental Reactions that offer up solid damage against almost any type of enemy. Xingqiu is our Hydro applicator, who is assisted by Sucrose to help apply the Hydro effect to every enemy on the field. She will also buff our Elemental Mastery and apply Swirl plus RES Shred if she is using the Viridescent Venerer set. When we add our Pyro components to the battlefield using both Bennett's elemental abilities to buff the team or Xiangling's bear companion: Gouba. We will begin to trigger Elemental Reactions. Xiangling brings the largest component of damage with her Pyronado when combined with Bennett's Elemental Burst, creating a surge of Pyro damage for even more reactions. This build is a constant character swap, ensuring your elemental skills are active as much as possible.

To start this Melt team is very Energy hungry, will want to stack Energy Recharge on Xiangling so that she is well over 200%, closer to 250%. Everyone's Elemental Burst abilities can stack together, so you want to be able to recharge those abilities back up quickly to keep your rotations from taking too long. Zhongli provides his shields to the team as well as universal RES Shred, allowing us to adopt an aggressive playstyle. We will apply Pyro and Cryo elements over and over on top of one another with this build, all the while being under Bennett's buff from his Elemental Burst. Ganyu's Celestial Shower is our main Cryo ability, pairing with her Charged Attack's for our secondary AoE application of Cryo. Xiangling's Pyro abilities, Guoba Attack and Pyronado, will be used in between Ganyu's Cryo applications to trigger Melt reactions. By alternating back and forth, we can trigger a ton of elemental reactions with this build.

This team is a single target monster, and is so much fun to play! While it does not have many AoE abilities, outside of Xiangling's Pyronado, it absolutely shreds groups. This build takes advantage of two 'turret' style skills: Fischl's Nightrider and Yae Miko's Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura. These are easy to maintain and offer a constant source of Electro application and damage. Add into the mix Xiangling's Pyro abilities: Guoba Attack and Pyronado, and with the right positioning we can trigger some great elemental reactions. Ningguang will provide a good chunk of DPS with her Geo abilities and charged attacks while your team's abilities refresh. This build is quite safe as you can remain ranged the majority of the time.
